COVID-19 has been a #DigitalAccelerator and @Futur COVID-19 has been a #DigitalAccelerator and @FutureFitAI's Terralynn Forsyth does not believe #CareerTransitions will be slowing any time soon. This disruption is heightened with less #EarlyStageWork opportunities, as key industries recover from pandemic impact.
Youth are the leaders of tomorrow, right? Wrong.⁣
At #Amplify2022 last week, the Federal Housing Minister @AhmedDHussen said, "a lot of times you hear words about how youth are the leaders of tomorrow...⁣
That’s not true.⁣
They're the leaders of today.⁣
If you look at their dynamism, their optimism, and their creativity, and their ability to organize...⁣
We cannot solve the big challenges facing us -- with respect to climate change, reconciliation, diversity & inclusion, ending child poverty, making sure we have a safe and affordable place to call home for every Canadian -- we can't do any of that without the involvement and leadership of youth."⁣

Strong youth employment rates are indicative of healthy economies, not just because they indicate strong talent pipelines, but also because meaningful connection to community via work makes for healthier individuals with more opportunity to grow and thrive.⁣
As part of celebrating #YouthWeek, we're amplifying the work of the #EmploymentServiceProviders who specialize in youth-specific employment programming, helping #youth to reach their full potential.

Minister Ahmed Hussen will have a virtual discussion with First Work's Board Treasurer - LeeAnne Maille of @yesnorthbay - covering the impacts of housing affordability on #employment, how to combat #colourism on a systemic level, and how we can ensure racialized newcomers are effectively supported once in Canada.
