First Work's Network of Employment Service Provide

First Work's Network of Employment Service Providers are traveling in from across the province for a day of meetings at the Ontario Legislature.
Local economies thrive thanks to the healthy workforce development ecosystems Employment Service Providers (ESPs) cultivate in their communities. While much of Ontario's economy has recovered from the acuity of pandemic, those who haven't yet been able to find their footing in the labour market still need support. ESPs' dual-customer approach, servicing both jobseekers and the employers who provide jobs, mean they are a valuable workforce development resource.
Invest in frontline service providers so our local economies can continue to thrive.

Following declines from pandemic acuity, Ontario unemployment rates have risen from last March (2023) to this (2024). This increase has been sharper for the youth population (15-24) than the general.

While Ontario's general population rate has essentially recovered from pandemic upheaval by the end of 2023, Ontario's youth unemployment rate remains over twice that of the general unemployment rate.
