Queen’s Park Lobby Day – Tuesday, April 7th, 2020

First Work Members have indicated an interest in bringing members together to advocate on behalf of the organization and the sector, with the Ontario PC government and members of the opposition at Queen’s Park. As we undergo this transformation, the importance of a unified voice is critical to ensure the sector’s needs are met.

Key Objectives of Lobby Day:

1. Introduce and spotlight the work of First Work and its members to the provincial government;

2. Engage and build relationships with a targeted list of decision makers (e.g. Ministers, political staff, and MPPs) who can champion the work of First Work and its member organizations;

3. Provide an opportunity for First Work members to interact individually with political actors; and,

4. Strategically and effectively communicate any policy “asks” from First Work and/or its members.

Prior to the Lobby Day, members will receive an Engagement Toolkit which will include: Engagement Letter and Maytree Foundation’s report as reference material.

The Lobby Day will include a reception in the morning and meetings in the afternoon with political actors. Please note there will be a minimal fee to participate in the Lobby Day and more details will be shared as they are made available.
